GENERAL COMMENTS: Three years after her debut "Songs from the Tainted Cherry Tree", the British singer-songwriter returns with her sophomore album. "Music to Make Boys Cry" is playful, catchy and really fun-to-listen, with obvious Madonna and Kylie influences especially in tracks like the brilliant single "Cinderella", "Dead Heat" and "Better in French". Although there's a risk of losing her musical identity and uniqueness in this album, Diana Vickers' voice fits perfectly to all this 80s vibe that's present throughout "Music to Make Boys Cry". Overall, an album that may lack substance mainly due to all this bubblegum pop attitude, but you really enjoy listening to, which is the whole point anyway!
MY TOP-3 TRACKS: Cinderella, Dead heat, Boy in Paris
VERDICT: 6.5/10
